Mechanical system design practitioners often use aluminum alloy materials, and there are many types of aluminum alloy materials. The key reason for selecting aluminum alloy materials is the comprehensive compressible strength and relative density.
Two types of aluminum alloy materials are going to be analyzed.
The first one is the aluminum alloy of 5000 series products, which is mainly used for sheet metal parts. The aluminum plate of 5000 series products belongs to the more common aluminum alloy aluminum plate series products. The key element is magnesium, with magnesium content in the middle of 3-5%. It can also be called titanium magnesium aluminum alloy.
The main characteristics are: low relative density, high compressible strength, high tensile strength. The relative density of aluminum alloy is lower than that of other series products. The production process is continuous rolling, belonging to the hot rolled aluminum plate series products. The key is that China 5000 series products belong to one of the relatively perfect aluminum plate series products.
5052 is often used. It has excellent forming and processing performance, corrosion resistance, weld-ability, fatigue limit, medium level static data, compressible strength. It is used to produce airport oil pipeline, automobile fuel tank, transportation vehicle, ship sheet metal, etc.
The second is the aluminum alloy of 6000 series products. The key parts are machined parts. Unlike 5000 series products, the aluminum alloy of 6000 series products is added with silicon element, so the aluminum alloy strength of 6000 series products will be greatly improved, and the mechanical processing and manufacturing performance is very good. In addition, it is applicable to the application with high anti-corrosion and irreducibly regulations. Easy coating, high compressible strength, strong corrosion resistance. I often use 6061 aluminum alloy for machining parts, which has excellent drilling performance.

F: Random production and processing state (not common)
O: Quenching state (mechanical professionals should understand, because I am here nagging a sentence, quenching refers to the metal material slowly heated to a certain temperature, maintained for a period of time, and then cooled at a certain rate. In this way, the strength of raw materials can be reduced, the cutting performance can be improved, the internal stress can be removed, and the specification can be stabilized. When the sheet metal is bent, it is not easy to crack. Simply speaking, if the aluminum alloy is in o state, it is soft.
H: Cold work hardening state (also known as cold work hardening, which is also the professional knowledge in the course content of quenching and tempering treatment. The strength, compressible strength and wear resistance are improved, which is not good for production and processing)
T: Quenching and tempering processing status (T number must be followed by one or more large numbers, which is a stable product).
